Home of the Cougars and Warriors

Welcome to the Baboquivari High School and Middle School website! We are located in Topawa, Arizona on the Tohono O’odham Nation, approximately one and a half hours southwest of Tucson.

Our high school and middle school’s philosophy is based on "educating the whole person: academically, emotionally, socially, and culturally," and has proved to be a winning belief.

Here at Baboquivari Secondary Campus we are proud of our native heritage and seek to inspire and educate students not only in the Arizona State Standards, but also in their Himdag - the cultural beliefs that the Tohono O’odham live by. We offer small class sizes perfect for hands-on experiential learning and quality one-to-one time with faculty and staff.

Spend some time getting to know us. We know you’ll like what you find.

Our Mission Statement

Baboquivari Unified School District, in partnership with families and communities, prepares students as leaders by providing a high quality educational environment where students excel with skills and knowledge needed to compete in a global society while retaining traditional values, cultures, and heritage.

A Message from Our Principal

Hello Baboquivari Secondary Campus Students and Families!

‘A:ñi 'añ hab ce:gig Tanya Suydam. D'añ principal g Waw Giwulk Mascamakud! I am incredibly honored to be the principal at the Baboquivari Secondary Campus!

I am beyond excited to take on this new role to create an environment that celebrates both academic and personal achievements of all students. We will be working hard to build partnerships with community departments and resources to provide as many opportunities for our students as we can. I am happy to announce that we are continuing to grow our dual enrollment program with Tohono O'odham Community College to include Tohono O'odham language and history, English, math, agriculture, political science, and a brand new culinary program. Students will be graduating with more and more college credits in the coming years!

To families, community members, legislative and district council members, and tribal employees: please feel free to visit any time to share your concerns, ideas, and opportunities for our students and staff. Each of you has expertise in areas that could greatly benefit our students and staff. We will welcome any and all ideas that you have to share with our campus.

We will work diligently to ensure our students are college and career ready when they graduate from Baboquivari High School. I cannot do this job alone, and I truly look forward to work that we will continue to do together, as a community, to ensure that all students are prepared for whatever path they choose.
