Welcome to the Baboquivari High School and Middle School website! We are located in Topawa, Arizona on the Tohono O’odham Indian Reservation, approximately one and a half hours southwest of Tucson.
Our high school and middle school’s philosophy is based on "educating the whole person: academically, emotionally, socially, and culturally," and has proved to be a winning principle.
Here at Baboquivari Secondary Campus we are proud of our native heritage and seek to inspire and educate students not only in the Arizona State Standards, but also in their Himdag - the cultural principles the Tohono O’odham live by. We offer small class sizes perfect for hands-on experiential learning and quality one-to-one time with faculty and staff.
Spend some time getting to know us. We know you’ll like what you find.
Baboquivari Unified School District, in partnership with families and communities, prepares students as leaders by providing a high quality educational environment where students excel with skills and knowledge needed to compete in a global society while retaining traditional values, cultures, and heritage.
Welcome to our website. In looking at our student achievement data, I am pleased to see that our students are making positive progress in their learning in English Language Arts (ELA) and math. Our focus this year is not only to improve achievement in ELA and math, but also to improve students’ writing skills.
Attendance is very important. Students must be in school every day to make progress in their learning. We want to make sure that all students are prepared for the next level. If a student misses one day of school, he/she misses a lot of learning. Please know that students must have C's or better and 95% attendance to participate in any outside of school activity. This includes field trips of any kind and traveling for athletics. We strive to help your child be successful in all areas of their student life and beyond.
Please know that we are making every effort to maintain a safe and orderly environment for our students.
I am thrilled to be working with your child (ren). I enjoy listening to them and finding ways to make their school a place where learning is engaging and relevant to their needs. I look forward to working with you as we progress through this year. Should you have any questions about what your child is learning, please don't hesitate to contact me at (520) 383-6800.
Yolanda Nuñez, Principal

Our students will be academically prepared, know their Himdag, and have life skills to excel.
